Please read carefully
Cryptocurrency and hardware wallets involve substantial risk of loss, including total loss. Nothing on this site is a recommendation that you buy, sell, hold, or store any specific cryptocurrency or hardware wallet. Always do your own research and consult qualified professionals licensed in your province before making financial decisions.
1. Buyer beware — this is independent editorial only
The reviews and comparisons on ColdWallets.ca reflect our own testing and editorial opinion at the time of writing. We are not the manufacturer, seller, or reseller of any product we review.
When you buy a hardware wallet based on anything you read here:
- The final purchase decision is 100% yours. We don't ship the device, set the price, back the warranty, or hold your private keys.
- Do your own due diligence before you buy.Verify the current price, firmware version, availability, and warranty terms directly with the manufacturer. Read the product page. Check recent customer reviews. Understand exactly what you're paying for.
- Cryptocurrency involves substantial risk of total loss. No hardware wallet — no matter how highly reviewed — changes that fact. If losing your entire crypto position would materially hurt your net worth, you need more than a wallet review; you need a licensed financial adviser.
- ColdWallets.ca is not responsible for any loss you may suffer from buying, setting up, using, or losing a hardware wallet; from losing your seed phrase or metal backup; from being phished or socially engineered; from firmware bugs or manufacturer failure; or from any other event that compromises your cryptocurrency. That responsibility rests entirely with you.
- Consult qualified professionals for tax (a Chartered Professional Accountant), legal (a lawyer licensed in your province), or investment (a registered adviser) decisions related to your cryptocurrency holdings. Nothing on this site substitutes for professional advice.
By using this site, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accepted these terms.
2. No financial, investment, or tax advice

Nothing on this Site constitutes a recommendation to buy, sell, hold, or store any specific cryptocurrency, token, hardware wallet, or other product. Nothing constitutes tax, accounting, or legal advice.
Consult a qualified professional licensed in your province before making any financial, tax, legal, or investment decision.
3. Cryptocurrency-specific risk disclosure
Cryptocurrency involves specific and substantial risks including but not limited to:
- Total loss of capital. Digital-asset prices are extremely volatile and can go to zero.
- Custody risk. Loss, theft, damage, or misuse of a hardware wallet or its recovery phrase results in permanent, irreversible loss of the associated cryptocurrency. No customer-service department can recover it.
- Regulatory risk. Canadian and international cryptocurrency regulation is evolving. Products, wallets, exchanges, or activities that are permitted today may be restricted or prohibited in the future.
- Cybersecurity risk. Phishing, malware, social engineering, and supply-chain tampering are ongoing threats even for sophisticated users of hardware wallets.
- Product risk. Firmware bugs, hardware defects, and manufacturer insolvency can render a hardware wallet inoperable or its stored funds inaccessible.
Do not use money you cannot afford to lose. Do not treat cryptocurrency as a substitute for regulated Canadian financial products.
4. Editorial independence, accuracy, and product information
We publish independent opinion based on our own research and testing. However:
- Product specifications, prices, features, availability, warranties, and manufacturer policies change frequently. Information on this Site may be outdated even where it appears current.
- We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or reliability of any information on the Site.
- We do not test every possible attack scenario or use case against the products we review. Security ratings reflect our informed opinion, not a formal audit.
- All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless otherwise stated and are approximate. Verify the current price and specifications directly with the manufacturer or retailer before purchasing.
5. Canadian tax information
References to Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) rules, GST/HST rates, capital-gains treatment, and cryptocurrency tax reporting are provided as a general overview only. Tax rules change frequently and their application depends on your specific circumstances, province of residence, and other facts we cannot know.
We are not authorized to give tax advice. Consult a CPA or the CRA directly before filing any return that includes cryptocurrency transactions.

The Site links to third-party websites, manufacturer product pages, exchanges, wallets, and other resources. Your interactions with any third-party site are governed solely by that site's terms and privacy policies.
